White Tea
White tea has started to become increasingly popular in the last few years. Only new, very young and delicate buds of the camellia sinensis plant are used, which are then gently dried in natural sunlight. It is only very lightly processed, and therefore the leaves retain much of their freshness and beneficial antioxidants. In fact, of all the Chinese teas available, white tea has the highest antioxidant content.
Characteristics:
White tea produces a golden, pleasant tasting clear brew, with a refreshing and deliciously mild flavour. The name of the tea derives from the fine, silvery hairs on unopened buds of the tea bush, that turn white as the tea is dried.
