Chinese Green Tea

Regarded by many as the ultimate tea, green tea is one of the most popular varieties of tea in the World. It originated in China over 4000 years ago, and is still the number one type of tea in many countries in Asia. In recent years, it has become increasingly popular in the West too, due to its pleasant and subtle flavour, and many reported health benefits. There are many different green teas available, with each region producing tea with its own unique style and flavour.

Characteristics:

Green tea is the most natural of all Chinese teas, made from the freshest tips and youngest most tender buds of the Camellia sinensis plant. Best harvested in spring, the leaves are heated to prevent oxidation then dried. Nothing is added or taken away, and there is minimal processing, ensuring a pure and refreshing taste.
